Guys:

I was browsing thru the Craigslist listings yesterday, and I found a beautiful Philco console radio from the forties. Someone had painted it SILVER, with what looks like spray paint from a can.
Are there NO VALUES left in this world???

I assume that trying to remove SPRAY PAINT from such a wooden beast would truly compromise the original finish and wood.

Lou, I have done all of my cabinet restorations using a very sharp block plane blade, scraping off the old finish. It sounds hard, but it is eaisier than you think. Yes the original finish is gone, no choice in the one you described.
