Rider 1-42 R.C.A. Sat in attic since 1935. Not much experience on one this old, tubes all tested good, slowly broght up voltage, received good on staions 540&790,890 (same land location as 790) volume was low turned volume up started "to squel" on to 1200 good receiption ,1350 (close & powerful station) same ploblem as 890 , 1410 nice & clear. I pulled chassis out before powering up everything looked orginal, caps & resistors tested correct. Is this receiption ok for older radio or can adjusting or relacing parts help?

Sounds like a good place to start may be to try and neutralize ( adjust the feedback ) of the IF of the set. There is a procedure for this - check online ( RCA netralization procedure ). However, since you are operating with the original capacitors, these may be a problem and may need replacement.
