The only good substitution listed is the 56.
The 56 draws less heater current which is a good thing but has a maximum plate voltage rating of 250V versus 275 for the 27. It is highly unlikely that the Atwater is using that high of plate voltage anyway. They both are 2.5V. filament (heater) tubes which is why there is only one direct sub. John
