I have one piece of equipment left in my shed, which I have not yet moved indoors due to its size (I will be soon). It is a Tektronix 535 oscilloscope (started with these right out of school!!). Due to the heat wave starting this week, should I be worried about the unit out there? How hot would it get in an unventilated shed and does the 'scope have high temperature components able to handle the temp?
Your answer will dictate how quickly I get it inside!!
Thanks
Lou
I doubt that the temperature would harm it; those Teks are pretty tough.

Nope - looks like this unit is old enough to have glass and bakelite.

::Hi Lou, I live in the desert (Las Vegas) it has been around 112 in the shade lately. I know if I have anything plastic in my sheds they will warp like knobs and lens. But if it is made of Bakelite and glass you will be OK. I don't care much for summer, that's for sure. George T

I worked in the summer at Salt Lake City. Take your heat and out Atlanta humidity, and you really have a taste of hell. Your sweat cools. Ours just wets. I'm sure glad as children we didn't know how miserable we were without air conditioning.
