Heathkit GR-227 Color TV Problem
12/3/2001 11:25:02 AMJack Stoll
I have a Heathkit GR-227 Color Tv I built in 1969. I have been
using it sparingly over the years until it acquired 60 HZ Hum
and the "Bends". Does any one know if I can acquire the original
type electrolytic cans for this unit. I suspect C-605 which is a
four section can, 100-20-10-10, all at 450VDC.Also any other
parts information woul be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi,
AES (www.tubesandmore.com) sells new manufacture tubular types, but I am not sure if the supplier is making one configured in that manner.

Digi-key stocks some new stock Sprague units, but you would have to contact them to find out if your configuration is available if the catalog (online at that) does not list a configuration that will work. They are not cheap.

Otherwise, using new stock pc board mounting style electrolytics, you can gut out the old one, and slip the new ones inside of the can.

Thanks John, I believe after slight research I will go with the third Option.
