OK: I have B+ voltage of 255-260v for tv tuner replacement. My new replacement tuner requires as stated in the connection data that I must supply 250v or less of B+ voltage for it to operate properly. My question is what watt and ohm resistor should I use to supply the correct voltage and can I also use an adjustable pot,if so what pot ? thanks

To answer your question, we need to know the current draw of the circuit. Much more info is needed.

P.S. I would forget a pot in the B+ ckt. A fixed resistor is called for.
Does the set work properly? If so, I might just forget it. How old is it? If the specified voltages are for a low-impedance analog voltmeter, and you are using a digital meter, then we're chasing ghosts.

OK: The current is drawn across pin 7 of the 6j6 tube and the set is a 58 Sylvania 21" . and at this point the picture is fuzzy with snow and hum or buzz in the audio, I tried adjustment of the osc for better picture and audio, but not much difference could be seen. I can give you more info about the tuner if needed?

NOT THE 6J6, ITS PIN 6 OF THE 6BQ7 R.F.AMP FOR 250V B+ NEEDED

Your tuner may not be the problem. The AGC circuit is most likely not working. This is a common problem for TV sets. It works similar to the AVC in a radio. Often an open AGC pot. The buzz and hum could be an adjustment of the quad coil. Common when on cable.

I would rather go with the standard tuner model TV-2232 that has both 130v and 250v B+ and will need the correct resistors to get drop the 255v to 250v from the chassis, I will go through and check the AGC circuit to make sure it is working?
