Hi to all, I bought a bunch of car tube radios, many of them without the Vibrator Power Supply, the guy who sold me the radios collected them in a yunk yard and he didn´t know that the "extra" metal box under the dash was an important part of this radios! So, I was thinking, it´s possible to made a B+ source with a modern Inverter?? Maybe the Inverter it´s too noisy?? Could do that?? Any idea will be welcome!!
Many thanks guys!!

A lot of the car radios such as for the 57 Chevy, the power supply also contained the audio output section. Had the 0Z4 the vibrator and a pair of 12V6 tubes.

Yes that is true, like the Blaupunkt radios (Bremen, Stuttgart etc) have the PS and the AO in the same box have a pair of this, personally I prefer the FoMoCo radios (like Sylvania) they have "all inclusive"!!
But some other radios that come in cars like the Kaiser Manhattan (here in Argentina called Kaiser Carabela) were equipped with RCA radios the PS is only the Vibrator, Transformer and the Rectifier...maybe in this case I could made a PS with a Inverter...

Inverter may work.

Also, check out this: http://www.radiosforoldcars.com/vibratorsF.htm as they sell replacement solid state vibrators for car tube radios..
