NOTES:

1 When a filter-input condenser larger than 40�f is used, it may be necessary to use more plate-supply impedance than the minimum value shown to limit the peak plate current to the rated value.

APPLICATION

The base of the 5Y3G fits the standard octal socket which should be mounted to hold the tube preferably in a vertical position. Horizontal operation is permissible if pins 2 and 7 are in a horizontal plane. Provision should be made for adequate ventilation to prevent overheating. The coated filament of the 5Y3G is designed to operate from the a-c line through a step-down transformer. The voltage at the filament terminals should be 5.0 volts under operating conditions at an average line voltage of 117 volts.
