GE 8950 tube

Hi: I have two type 8950 tubes made by GE and in boxes. They look good, but I can't test them with my Sencore MU 150 or myTV-7 tube testers, because they are not on my lists. These are Pentode, Power Amplifiers. They are not even listed in my tube equivalent list. Can anyone tell me how I can test them?

Dick,
A quick search of the internet I found that it is the same as the 6KG6 but has a 12 volt filament. So my guess is that the test for a 6KG6 would work. Please double check that it's 12 volts.
I hope that this helps.

The information I found was here:

The tube data for the 8950 is on this page:

http://www.pmillett.com/tube_data.htm

It seems to be a very slow server but I did get a copy of the tube data.

I just looked at our tube section, and the 6KG6 has a different base and the filament pins are different. So I'm not sure it's the same.

Even so, I hope that this helps.

Thanks Dave, it did indeed help, and I was able to print out the tube data. I also found info that the 8950 could be tested with the settings for the 6LB6 with 12 V heater setting instead of 6 V. I tried that test and the results looked good. However, I'm still not sure that the test results are dependable.

Thanks again.
