Some Canadian radio schematics are under resources, above. Ed in Canada supplied some of us CD's with Canadian schematics. These cover Radio College of Canada supplements to #33, 1955.
Ask if you need a specific schematic. We might have it?
Norm
:Would someone have access to Canadian radio schematics from the 1950s, and realy 1960s?
Would you happen to have the schematic for a "Brand and Millen" DR-102U? "ASTRA" is prominently displayed in the center bottom of the dial scale. Here are a couple of links, which provide only scant info:
http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/astra_dr_102udr102.html

Tube lineup = 35Z5GT, 12SA7, 12SK7, 35L6GT, and 12SQ7.
Any help is most sincerely appreciated.
Thanks!!
Basil

The "Astra" seems to be a typical AA5-type radio, but it has been tinkered with extensively in the past. I must point out that I am fairly new to this hobby; I recapped the radio as best I could, using the capacitors present in the set as a reference. Only 2 seemed to be original (marked "made in Canada"), and one of those was the capacitor for the external antenna wire, attached to the backboard, that nobody seems to ever bother with).
Several of the replacements had their values printed--now, get this--DIRECTLY ON THE WAX--not on the cardboard tube! They seem to be of reprehensibly low quality, and were all manufactured by the same NY supplier (whose name escapes me now...I think it's "Hyde").
After recapping, the radio receives pretty well, but with a slight hum that seems unaffected by the position of the volume control (i.e. the hum neither increases or decreases in volume, but the received audio changes volume properly).
Since my work represents what may be most generously referred to as a "best guess" based on the available data (one of the old capacitors had a smudged digit), a parts list and schematic would be most useful for determining how...creative...past tinkering has been.
Thanks much for any help you can provide!!

:Hi Basil; Back in July, 2007 I purchased a Brand and Millen "Astra",DR-102U and restored it. There wasn't much to getting it up and playing; someone had put a 50L6GT in place of the proper 35L6GT and used a 12SG6 instead of a 12SK7. I had to replace the veneer on top and the grille cloth. I replaced the dial bulb with a christmas tree bulb!! Since then I have purchased a second Brand and Millen radio and restored it. These are really a great little radio picking up a multitude of stations!!!!. They were made near Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1946. I kept notes while I fixed up this radio and took lots of before and after pictures and I also have the schematics, parts list and alignment procedures. You are welcome to all of this info if you send me an address and I will mail it off to you.

Thanks Andy!! I have included my email address in this reply (in the optional e-mail field).

Hey Basil
You piggy backed on an old 2007 post hence the confusion. Your radio is circa 1946 and is in RCC Data sheet Astra 1. If you still need the schematic for the Astra let us know. Fill in your email on your next post and I'm sure Andy or one of the guys will send it along to you.
Regards
Ken
Just seen that Andy replied to your post with help on the schematic. (Ah the joys of getting older.)
Regards
Ken
Sorry about the confusion; I didn't want to flood the forum with multiple posts on the same subject. Also, in the post to which I replied, Norm L. said something about having a CD with Canadian Radio College schematics-which I figured was my best lead.
I have included my email this time. Thanks to everybody for all your help!!
Basil

I'm also looking for a schematic for a DR102U Ser#9314 My wife just had one restored and would like to get it working..It is a beautiful little radio and want to fully restore it (sentimental value)
Is there a chance I could get a schematic from you, or is there a site to go to
Thanks so much
