| Then, since your tester has a bias control, your extremely good tests might be due to a change in grid spacing (due to production changes) instead of emissions? Could be either, regardless of the tester, but that is an interesting thing to keep in mind. I have had rectifiers that peg the meter, but that's only because of extremely good cathode emissions. I wonder if manufacturers ever changed the gain of a tube (by changing grid spacing). I assume that they did.
