Speaker-rubber cement

Posted by Mike C. on 07/03/2009 17:10

A so-called radio restorer here in NH.,supposedly uses the rubber cement method of treating speaker cones. However,he first mixes it with WD-40 to thin it down and make it easier to spread.I can't vouch for this method, because even though I paid for it when I had him "restore" my Hallicrafter's s-40a's chassis,he didn't bother to do it.Much like he didn't bother to change out a few paper caps that he thought were too well hidden for me to notice. If you try it,please let us know how it works.Good luck.
