Mark, I'm not familiar with this particular set. But if the field coil isn't open at the ends, then I fear the only solution would be to unwind and rewind the field coil. The length of the winding would be daunting: a mile of wire wouldn't be unusual. You'd need a coil winder, for sure - not just an electric drill. Doug
