Cannot see last post--says no page 1964 RCA Radio

::EDD...I ran the test with no results; no sound was produced...The VCR was tested for sound from a tape and then I hooked a single RCA lead (red) from sound output of VCR to volume control with cap soldered to ring and one to inner pin (radio off). No sound through speakers.

The radio should be turned ON. It's not going to amplify anything from the VRC in the off position.
