off and on switch

Posted by Johnny on 04/24/2009 14:28

:::Where can I purchase the original off/on switch or as close to the original switch for an RCA 1936 Model 6T?
::
::Hello Al,
::
::Do you have the old original and if so what's wrong with it? Is it part of the volume potentiometer or is it pushbutton etc.?
::Hi Johnny,
:
:It is the off/on and tone control switch. It is not a push button, it is one that you turn. The Bakolite material is burnt by one of the contacts. From what I can tell the contacts are bad. I could probably take it apart to get to the contacts, but I wouldn't be able to rivet the part back on.

:If you want to try to get an original you can try oldradioparts.com (Play Things Of The Past). It's very helpful if you have an original part number and all related info for your set when visiting this site. This guy is located in Van Nuys,CA and he has alot of stuff for alot of radios.
