Firestone Air Chief Chassis cross reference help needed

Posted by Poston Drake on 02/23/2004 08:20

Hi Jack,
That certainly seems to be a Firestone model number, or possibly Stewart-Warner. But I don't see it listed in the Rider index here on NostalgiaAir. However, in a 1948 C-D-capacitor manual there is a Firestone model R307 listed, and referenced to Rider page 9-5. You might check out that Rider page, the schematic might reference other model numbers or give you some clues.

:I have a Firestone Air Chief chassis labeled with an R-307-A plate on the back. I've had the chassis since I was a kid (too many decades ago!) and have been trying to find what the correct cabinet is for it. It has 7 tubes including a socket for an eye tube, 4 wooden knobs, gold Air Chief dial, 3 bands. I don't know if the number is a chassis number or the actual model of the radio but I can't seem to find any listing. Any help would be appreciated.
