:25 cycle radios are very common in some areas. They will run quite well on 60 cycles. I have had several. The 25 cycle transformer is larger than the 60 and generally is more robust. The only problem could be on units that have a phono in them, as it will run at the wrong rpm. : :Ed. Thankyou Ed .Yes the transformers are quite large as you say .The turntable in the RCA is a Garrard and actually says 60 cycle on the motor.I am glad I won't have to replace transformer .
