| Hi Terry: Your radio arrived here today. It was packed very well.... but I noticed there are cracks in the case on the bottom where you have the mounting screws.. right? ANYWAY.. it's fixed and running nicely as we speak ...lol You weren't far off. The small winding (.6 ohms) of the oscillator coil that connects one lug to the cathode and the other to B- was simply reversed. It's a 50/50 call and I just swapped them and it was off and running. You had an additional un-needed 120 ohm resistor in series with the 47pf cap to pin 1 but I connected the 47pf cap directly to pin 1 as shown in the print.. but it will work either way. I also checked the IF alignment and tried to tweak it a bit but it was fine right where it was. I noticed that there is a lot of wires that aren't so neat and I could have cleaned all that up.. but I figured it's better left up to you. It's working now so you can go in and do whatever else you feel like ... but nothing that MUST be fixed.. only neatness stuff. Have fun with it. |
