What is your favorite radio?

Posted by Brian on 05/11/2006 23:39

My grandfather once had a RCA 16X14? in college that he later gave to my mom on her 10th birthday. She got rid of it years ago (before I was born) when it quit working. If only I could of had that little radio.

:My favorite is my little RCA 9-TX. I have many radios that are more valuable and some probably museum quality, but this one sat on the shelf in the press room of my Dad's newspaper office when I was a kid 40-odd years ago. The radio is much older than that, but I remember listening to the nearby rock & roll station on it while helping Dad clean the type galleys and press rollers after the weekly newspaper was printed. The bakelite case is chipped and cracked, half of the back is torn away, but I will never restore it; it's just the way it was way back then, and I prefer to keep it that way/// Jeff S.
