Speaker-rubber cement

Posted by Marv Nuce on 07/13/2009 12:30

Vinny,
Congrats!! I'm not a chemist or glue expert, but seem to recall that regular white glue is more like acrylic paints, dries to a rigid texture, and may affect sound quality, whereas the Elmers I've used dries to a flexible/rubbery state. I found it at Jo Anns. Last week I added a little black (licorice)acrylic, but it still retained it rubbery flexible nature.

:Greetings, I wound up using Elmer's school glue because it was the only thing I could find in my area. From the outside it looks like blue gel but it coated on clearly and easily. The first coat I mixed with water and it dried very fast, second coat was uncut. Speaker looks great and sounds great. Elmer's was 99 cents.
:Vinny A.
